Acorn is an original abstract painting on canvas by visual artist Shawn McNulty. This painting is is 1.5″ deep, gallery wrapped with painted edges, and ready to hang with wire on the back.

Fun Fact: The title comes from the large form which looks like acorn. Here is a neat acorns craft vase or plant pot project from Creative in Chicago that would be fun for both kids and adults.

  1. Go foraging for acorns from your favorite local oak tree spot.

  2. Take them home and wash them thoroughly. Bake them in the oven for 30 minutes at 250° which will kill any bugs inside and prevent them from sprouting.

  3. Use a hot glue gun to attach them to a container. I think a plastic pot with straight sides would work well. You could even repurpose a large yogurt container (poke some holes in the bottom for drainage.)

  4. Add some soil and put a plant in it! Pothos and Sansevieria are both easy and hard to kill.
