Black Egg is an original abstract painting on canvas by visual artist Shawn McNulty. This painting is is 1.5″ deep, gallery wrapped with painted edges, and ready to hang with wire on the back.
Fun Fact: Is there such a thing as a black egg laying chicken? Nope. There are, however, chickens that are all black in color such as the Kadaknath and Ayam Cemani. The black coloring is from a dominant gene that causes hyperpigmentation, so everything is black including feathers, beak, skin and internal organs. The closest thing to a black egg in nature would be the emu, which lays a very dark green egg. My painting Black Egg looks like a hard-boiled egg in one of those fancy egg cups, which is how I came to the title. If still available, it would make a great addition to your kitchen wall decor.
