Not So Fun Fact: The vaquita porpoise, or little cow, is found in the northern end of the Gulf of California. Averaging 60″ in length, it is the smallest of all living cetaceans. Today, the vaquita is close to extinction and the population is fewer than 10 individuals. The steep decline is primarily from being caught in gillnets. The non-proft charity Sea Sheperd is trying to help them survive.
