Acrylic and Pumice on Canvas
The Lobster is an original abstract painting on canvas by visual artist Shawn McNulty. This painting is is 1.5″ deep, gallery wrapped with painted edges, and ready to hang with wire on the back.
Fun Fact: The Lobster falls into line with the other marine inspired paintings from this time including Nautilus and Tail Fin. The claw on the right side happened spontaneously as did the black head. I added the claw on the left side to complete the concept. I used The Lobster for the title as a nod to the film of the same name by Yorgos Lanthimos. I enjoy his absurdist dystopian films, but they are certainly an acquired taste. This painting was part of my Elixir exhibition at Rosalux Gallery.
