The producers acknowledge basing the town on different towns including Matt Groening’s hometown of Portland, Oregon, and Mike Scully’s hometown, Springfield, Massachusetts. The original of Springfield, along with Condor, can be seen publicly in the lobby at Latitude 45 luxury apartments in Minneapolis.
